Hi and welcome to this week's 50 & Beyond Health & Wellbeing blog. Each week I will provide you with knowledge, tips, advice and recommendations to inspire you to sustain good metabolic health specific to being over 50. Chris Deavin, myHealthCoach
My Nutrition Advice; "You have got into eating well. You have started to plan your meals in advance and you know which foods to avoid that trigger cravings and overeating. But now you have been invited out for dinner and someone else has control over what you eat. Don't panic. Think it through."
My Exercise Tip; "One of the biggest misconceptions I have encountered as a coach is people thinking lifting weights isn't for them. They don't want to get bigger or look muscular. Unless you train 4 hours a day, 6 times per week. Lifting weights will not get you bigger or more muscular-looking. But lifting weights is the single most important thing you can do for your health over the age of 50."
My Lifestyle Suggestion; "No one can achieve the best health results on their own. We don't live like Hermits, so other people's lives will influence our lives. It is how you work with others that will determine the health you will have. So it is best to get them on board."
My Habit-Building Advice For The Week;
"Building healthy habits is not always going to be successful. You are going to mess up from time to time, but that is ok. Failing is an important part of success. You learn more about how to be successful through failing than you do from always getting things right."
