Hi and welcome to this week's 50 & Beyond Health & Wellbeing blog. Each week I will provide you with knowledge, tips, advice and recommendations to inspire you to sustain good metabolic health specific to being over 50. Chris Deavin, myHealthCoach

My Nutrition Advice; "The most important advice I give any client when it comes to nutrition is to first find your level. What do I mean by that? Don't overthink what you should eat. For most of us, just eating natural food and not ultra-processed food will be enough to improve our health without worrying about calorie counting or macro percentages."
My Exercise Tip; "The most effective exercise is hard exercise. I only achieve my best fitness level when I have worked hard for several weeks. Working out hard is hard enough as it is, without throwing up self-inflicted obstacles. If you want to achieve the best fitness results, look to first break down any obstacles which are in your way."
My Lifestyle Suggestion; "The single biggest lifestyle behaviour which will have the biggest impact on your health is sleep. Good quality sleep will help protect you against developing chronic illnesses, depression, weight gain, and cognitive decline. To name just a few. The pillars of nutrition and exercise, sit upon the foundation that sleep builds. Without a strong foundation, a lot of your hard work will go to waste."
My Mindset Building Strategy;
"What is it you fear? We all experience fear. We might experience different levels, but we all will feel fear at some time. How do you act when you are fearful? Do you become proactive or reactive? Do you try and take back control that fear can take from you, or do you just hand over control to fear?"
