Are You Actually Ready for Coaching? Here’s the Honest Fit Check No One Ever Gives You

Most people think the biggest question in coaching is, “Can this programme help me?”
But that is not the real question.
The real question is,
“Is this the right time, the right support, and the right fit for you?”
Because here is the truth very few coaches will tell you.
A programme can be brilliant, but if the alignment is wrong, it will not work.
Not because you are incapable.
Not because you lack willpower.
But because readiness is everything.
So let’s talk openly about whether this work is a fit for you, and just as importantly, when it is not.
Who This Programme Is Not For (And Why That’s a Good Thing)
This may surprise you, but I am not trying to help everyone.
That is precisely why the work is so effective for the people it is designed for.
1. If someone else wants this more than you do
If your partner told you to get healthier…
If your doctor pushed you towards coaching…
If you are here because of pressure rather than desire…
Pause.
Because change only sticks when it is your decision.
External pressure might get you through the door, but it will not carry you through discomfort, reflection or growth.
You have to want this for you, not for someone else’s peace of mind.
2. If you are looking for a fast fix, not a transformation
If you want a six week drop-a-stone plan…
If you want a detox, a cleanse, a magic shortcut…
This work will frustrate you.
The W.I.S.D.O.M approach is not about shrinking yourself quickly.
It is about expanding your capacity, resilience and identity for the long term.
The question is not “How fast can I lose weight?”
The question is “Who am I becoming while I change my health?”
3. If you are not ready, willing or able to take part right now
Everyone wants to be healthier.
But not everyone is ready to work on their health.
And there is no shame in that.
If you are going through acute trauma…
If you are battling addiction…
If you are struggling with significant emotional instability…
If you are facing an active eating disorder…
You deserve specialist care first.
Coaching is powerful, but it cannot replace therapeutic or medical support.
There will come a time when this work is right for you.
But that time has to be safe.
So… Who Is the Right Fit?
Here is the simple truth.
The people who thrive in this programme are not perfect.
They are not super motivated.
They are not super disciplined.
They are simply this:
1. Ready to take responsibility for their health
Not blame.
Not guilt.
Responsibility.
A quiet understanding that, “No one is coming to save me. I am ready to participate in my own change.”
2. Willing to learn and be coached
This is not about being told what to do.
It is about exploring your patterns, beliefs, triggers and habits with honesty and curiosity.
People who get the most out of coaching are willing to ask questions, not hide from them.
3. Able to take small, consistent steps
Forget perfection.
Forget discipline.
Forget “being good”
If you can take small, consistent actions, even when life is chaotic…
you are already halfway there.
4. People who see their health as an asset, not a chore
You do not have to love exercise.
You do not have to enjoy meal prep.
You do not have to be excited every day.
But if you believe that your health affects your freedom, confidence, energy, mobility and independence…
you are aligned with the work.
And alignment is everything.
The Question That Changes Everything
Before joining any programme, ask yourself:
“Am I looking for someone to fix me, or someone to walk with me as I fix myself?”
If you want to be rescued, no programme will work.
If you want to participate, reflect, practise and gently challenge the parts of you that keep slipping back…
then this might be exactly the place you have been searching for.
The right fit does not mean the right person.
It means the right time, the right mindset and the right willingness.
And if you are ready, truly ready, the change is extraordinary.
