myHealth Blog: 4 Tactics To Spice Up Exercise

Hi and welcome to this week's 50 & Beyond Health & Wellbeing blog. Each week I will provide you with knowledge, tips, advice and recommendations to inspire you to sustain good metabolic health specific to being over 50. Chris Deavin, myHealthCoach

My Nutrition Advice; "So, what is the latest diet? I ask because sometimes it is hard to keep up with the latest best way to eat. There have been so many. Why so many? If they worked, there wouldn't need to be new ones. It is easy to become confused about what to do. My advice is to experiment. Find what works for you and stick to it. And ignore all the confusion out there."

My Exercise Tip; "I get it. Exercise can be boring. I would wager it is the exercise that you are doing that is boring. Not exercise itself. If you are experiencing this, I suggest changing it up. Most people just keep doing what they have always done. Either it is a lack of knowledge of what to do or not wanting to step out of your comfort zone and do something more challenging. Either way, spice up what you are doing, or just go through the motions. Your choice."

My Lifestyle Suggestion; "A lot of the coaching I provide is helping my clients consistently follow the right habits for a healthy life. But there are 5 habits which I think are fundamental to living a healthy life. If you do these habits every day, you will see a huge improvement to your health, strength, fitness and wellbeing."

My Mindset Building Strategy;

"If you went on a journey the first you would ask is 'what is my destination'? Without knowing this, your journey has no direction. You just wander around hoping to come across something. Having a point will give you direction. Having direction will help you take action. It is only when you take action you will get closer to your goal (destination). "
