Eating well on a demanding schedule

Travel, meetings and long days do not make good nutrition impossible — they make improvised nutrition unreliable. Defaults solve most of it.

Most nutrition problems in busy professional life are not knowledge problems. They are decision problems: too many food choices made too late, while tired and under time pressure.

The fix is to reduce the number of live decisions. A small set of defaults — meals you can repeat, order easily or assemble quickly — removes the improvisation that causes most of the drift.

Practical defaults

  • A protein-anchored default for each meal you regularly eat away from home.
  • Two or three evening meals you can make without planning.
  • A travel pattern decided before you travel, not at the airport.

None of this requires a restrictive diet. It requires that the ordinary version of your week is good enough that occasional exceptions do not matter.
