Life Performance Blog: Break The Chain Of Bad Habits

Welcome to this week's Life Performance Blog. Each week I will share with you health articles, podcasts, workouts and the latest research when it comes to living a healthy life.

My aim is to help people become better informed, take action and move towards better health, a stronger body and mind, and take control back of their health and wellbeing.

This Week's Health Article: Break The Chain

Before you can start forming new healthy habits you first need to stop doing the bad ones. But even if you find it hard to give up the bad habits, they are habits after all, then just start committing to doing the good habits as well.

By just doing the good habits, you will start crowding out the bad ones. You won't have time for both good and bad habits and you will have to make a choice about which habits you keep.

I am sure you will make the right choice.

This Weeks Health Podcast: How Toxins Mess With Your Hormones

This week's podcast is from The Human Upgrade with Dave Asprey. This podcast features the urologist Tracy Gapin MD. It is mainly a conversation about the role testosterone plays in our health, which is commonly known as a male hormone, but it also plays a major role in female health.

The podcast is only 55 minutes long, but you can skip to the 33rd minute for an overview of hormonal health and what you can do to improve it as we age.

This Week’s Health Research: The Physiology Of Sleep And The Impact Of Ageing

Sleep is an essential part of life. It is not a passive state of unconsciousness, but rather a dynamic brain process that is the result of the interaction between two largely independent basic mechanisms: the circadian rhythm and the homeostatic drive to sleep. Its exact role has yet to be elucidated but it is known that sleep plays an important role in the restoration of physical and mental functioning.

This Week's Workout Recommendation:

Workout Of The Week: Lucia

Each week I will recommend a workout that, if performed multiple times through the week, will help you increase strength, cardio fitness, mobility and mental confidence. Depending on your access to equipment, change the exercises to suit but keep the workout protocol the same.
